Granite Bay, California - Scott Emerson Cavanaugh died unexpectedly on March 28, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Emerson Cavanaugh and Jill Merrill Cavanaugh. He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Retta Cavanaugh; his children, Mercedes, Austin, and Kiara (Jordan); his granddaughter, Kailani; and his sister, Toni (Jim), and brother, Kurt (Dolly). Scott was born on February 7, 1974, in San Jose, CA. He attended Adelante High School in Roseville. He graduated from Universal Technical Institute in 2011 where he received numerous Student of the Course and Directors List recognitions. Scott was employed by Alstom as an Operations and Maintenance Supervisor. Scott was a loving son, father, brother, and grandad. He was a life teacher and knee bandager to his three children. He was a member of The Ancient and Honorable Order of E Clampus Vitus (ECV), California Growlersburg Chapter 86. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 30 from 3:00–6:00 at Newcastle Portugeuse Hall, 690 Taylor Rd, Newcastle, CA 95658. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Scott to The CHARGE Syndrome Foundation at www.chargesyndrome.org.
