Bruce Steven Cavanaugh

Bruce Steven Cavanaugh, 76, born in Harrisburg, PA, passed away on February 21, 2026, after a lengthy battle with Acute Leukemia. He was never happier than when he was dropping a line off the side of his boat in Lake Raytown or walking on the beach with his beloved wife, Cindy. He adored teaching all of his grandchildren chess, playing rummy, and fishing. He loved to reminisce about his time spent on his father's boat crabbing with his brothers and sisters in the Chesapeake Bay. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine in the Vietnam War. He retired from the new Cumberland Army Depot.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Eulene Cavanaugh; and his brother, David Cavanaugh. He is survived by his sister, Sandra Sellers (John) of Elizabethtown, PA; sister-in-law, Donna Cavanaugh of Winterville, GA; and his twin brother, Brian Cavanaugh (Barbara) of Moore, OK; his wife of 53 years, Cynthia Cavanaugh; son Keith Cavanaugh of Lewisberry, PA; and daughter, Erin Peck (Shane) of Harrisburg, PA; his grandchildren, Elliott Cavanaugh, Kyle Peck and Reagan Peck; as well as his nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2026, 11:30AM at Paxton Presbyterian Church, 3500 Sharon St., Harrisburg PA 17111. Visitation will be held 10:30AM-11:30AM prior to the service.
