Judith Routson Obituary

Judith (Judy) Ann Routson, 84, beloved wife of Keith Routson, mother, stepmother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Gettysburg Hospital. Born and raised in York Township, PA, the daughter of Benjamin E. Druck and Hazel K. (Bentz) Druck, she grew up with her three brothers, George "Ted", Phillip "Butch" and Benn, and sister Barbara (Bobbi). In high school she was active in band, playing the clarinet. She attended York High while the new Dallastown Area High School was being built and graduated from Dallastown in 1959.

She began her first "real" career as a legal secretary. She went on to own her own word processing business at a time when typing on anything other than a typewriter was new to everyone. She went on to eventually become a columnist for the Boonville Herald in Boonville, NY.

Among her hobbies were reading, stamp collecting, trivia, photography, making greeting cards with her original photographs and other artwork, and word games like Scrabble. But her passion was genealogy. She meticulously researched her own family history on her father's side, publishing "The George Druck Family Chronicle 1741-2008." Next, she published her maternal family history titled, "As Long as One of Us Remembers…Bentz and Dentler Families of York County, Pennsylvania: The Story of Hazel Bentz Druck's Ancestors." She later researched Keith's family history on his mother's side and published "Seven Sisters – A Family History: The Story of Klinedinst and Lehr Ancestors 1524 – 2024."

Known for her love of the color purple and hats, she could often be found wearing both. She is survived by her husband of almost 43 years, Keith W. Routson; children Kristina (Dan) Rebert, Kathleen Feese, Brian (Diane) Geesey, and stepdaughter Amy Routson; grandchildren Brigitta Kiessling, Joshua Geesey, Morgan Geesey, Ryan Feese; and greatgrandchildren Lydia and Eleanor Monn, and Hudson Feese.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 S. Baltimore St, Dillsburg, PA. All are invited to wear something purple or your best hat in honor of Judy.
