Sharon Michener Obituary

Sharon Lynn Michener

December 16, 1956 - April 23, 2025

Orangevale, California - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Lynn (Solorio) Michener. Sharon passed away peacefully on the evening of April 23, 2025 surrounded by her daughters. Sharon was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

Sharon was born on December 16, 1956 in Upland, CA to Elvira Herrera Solorio and Bobby Rodriguez Solorio. Sharon grew up in the greater Sacramento area and attended St. John Vianney and later Cordova High School with her brothers and sister. From her early years in Rancho Cordova, Sharon made lasting friendships that she valued and nurtured throughout her lifetime.

Sharon's great love in her life was her late husband Michael, who she was married to for 39 years prior to his passing in 2021. Sharon and Mike met while she was working at Wells Fargo Bank. She then helped Mike start and run a successful insurance brokerage firm over the next 35 years. Sharon and Mike had two daughters, Kristen and Jackie, whom they doted over. To say that Sharon was a dedicated mother and (later) grandmother is an understatement. Sharon was present for Kristen and Jackie at all stages of their lives - school activities, sports, volunteering for charitable causes. Most of all - she was always just a phone call or text away if either of them needed her.

Sharon was full of life and had a special way of making everyone feel cared for and welcomed. She was often seen as a connector, or the glue, between many of her friend groups and family. One of her greatest joys in life was hosting friends and family. Sharon was also known for her generosity. She was very involved in the community and was dedicated to giving back and helping others - no matter how big or small.

Sharon was a constant source of strength for her family; especially as the primary caregiver to her late husband, Michael, as he fought a courageous, decade-long battle with cancer. As the matriarch of the family, she is already greatly missed.

As our family transitions to the next phase of life without Sharon, we know that her spirit will be present among us always. She will be particularly missed at Mason and Sadie's games, as well as Jackie's wedding.

Sharon is survived by her daughters, Kristen (Michener) Fritts (son-in-law, Jeff Fritts) and Jackie Michener (fiance, Seth McKeen). Grandchildren, Mason and Sadie Fritts. Brothers and sister; Bob Solorio, Andre Solorio, Cynthia Solorio. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Michener and her parents, Elvira and Bobby Solorio.

There will be a funeral mass to honor Sharon on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Divine Savior Catholic Church in Orangevale, CA.

If you wish to honor Sharon please consider donating to the Fair Oaks Orangevale Food Bank in lieu of flowers.

My condolences to the family... I worked with Sharon at Macy´s Sunrise. She was always the sweetest and most kind person. Sharon was caregiving for her husband then and what a beautiful, living example of a wife and a life well lived. No doubt they are together in the world beyond.
