Davis, California - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sigmund Elgert (Sigi to his loved ones) on July 14th 2023. He was 91.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joann Elgert, his two daughters, Rose Kirby, and Monika Elgert, and three grandchildren, Ryan Moroz, Madeline Warner, Leigh Warner, and his brother Artur Elgert, in Germany.
A devoted husband and loving father and grandfather, Sigi's most enduring legacy was his love for his family. HIs signature sense of humor will remain in the memories and hearts of those lucky enough to know him. He was loved by all and all be greatly missed.

I knew Sig for many years through Everett Thoreson. He was a great guy. He and Joann joined us at Yosemite one year for lots of laughs. There were many fun times spent at the Buggy Whip. My sympathies to the family and a hug for Joann. May fond memories bring you comfort.
