Encino, California - Sister Carol Pack was born in Chicago in 1942. She was raised in Houston Texas, went to college in Mobile Alabama, and entered the Sisters of Social Service in 1965.
Sr. Carol's ministries for over 50 years brought her to Vallejo, Oakland, San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles and San Diego. In the 1970's she directed a Religious Education program in Vallejo and was a team member for 11 years at Wellspring Women's Center in Sacramento. In other settings her service ranged from Campus Ministry, Resident Summer Camp, Care for the Underserved, and hospital Chaplaincy.
In each of these locations her service was marked by her genuine care for those in need. Her gentleness was matched by her tenacity to make the most of whatever challenges came her way. The greatest of these challenges was the onset of cancer in the early 1990's, a disease which eventually claimed her life on November 16th.
Funeral services will be held in Holy Spirit Chapel, 4316 Lanai Rd. Encino CA 91436 on Tues., Dec. 17, 2024. All are welcome. To assist with planning, we ask that you let us know you are coming by calling us at 818.285.3370.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of Social Service.
