Stanley Affonso Obituary

Stanley (Stan) Affonso
July 23, 1938 - June 23, 2022
Sacramento, California - It is with a heavy heart that we announce that on Thursday, June 23, 2022, Stan Affonso, loving husband, father of two and grandfather of four, passed away exactly one month before his 84th birthday. Stan was born in Los Banos, California on July 23, 1938 to Alfred and Angelina Affonso. In 1963, he married Caroline Louise Allan and moved to the Bay Area, but eventually settled in Sacramento, California. There, he started a very successful office coffee business, A & S Coffee Service, in 1972 and in 1998 began his own coffee roasting company, Terra Nova Roasting Co. which he ran until 2009 when he retired. He and Carol raised a daughter, Nicole, and a son, Jon.
Stan loved to hunt ducks, fly fish, and spend time with his family and friends. He was a lifetime 49er Faithful and loved the SF Giants.
Stan was an incredibly active member of the Arden Arcade Rotary Club. There he was credited for raising thousands of dollars for Polio vaccines (as his wife is a polio survivor), as well as for the Sacramento Children's Receiving Home, and W.E.A.V.E. It was this accomplishment for which he was most proud.
Stan was preceded in death by his father Alfred, his mother Angelina, and his sister Donna. He is survived by his wife Carol, his two children Nicole and Jon, his brother Don, his sister Shelly, his grandchildren Phoebe, Wes, Reagan, and Simone, as well as many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
If you wish to or in lieu of sending flowers, please send any donation to the Arden Arcade Rotary Club.
