Steve ALLEN Obituary

ALLEN, Steve
A highly respected owner- operator of an agricultural spraying and seeding business in Walnut Grove, CA, perished on January 10, 2011 in an aerial collision with a temporary weather station tower. He was 58. Born in Lodi, CA in 1952, he graduated from Elk Grove High School and worked in the family dairy business before beginning a flying career in 1971. His specialized training in agricultural application began three years later. After a long established reputation in the industry, he and his wife bought Alexander's Ag Flying Service in 2006, and continued to serve the client base that had followed Steve for more than two decades. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Karen of Rio Vista; daughter Gail Back of Sacramento; daughter Angela Lucero of Sacramento; grandson Brenden Back; and six brothers and sisters. A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 1:30pm in the Our Lady of Fatima Society Portuguese Hall in Thornton. Donations are welcome to the California Agricultural Aircraft Association fund seeking to require marking and notification of tower installations.

Steve Allen was our neighbor and friend in Sacramento, CA. We loved him. He was truly a great man. He was nice to everyone unconditionally. And he was very handsome, too. He was kind and generous to everyone. We can't believed that he's gone, still so young.

We missed you, steve. You didn't know that you made an impact on us, the moment we met you and got to know you. Hope to see you in heaven.

God loves you,
The Hobiera

Karen,
Wings of an angel is what Steve has been and always will be, and now he is back with our father in heaven soaring higher than before. Look up to the brightest shining star in the sky and you will find his bedroom light shining bright for you as he watches over you. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
God Bless you and your family.

I'm sorry for your loss, Steve was a great guy. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I remember clam digging with Steve and my Uncle Willie at Dillions Beach.

Karen, Steve and my late husband Mark Kunisaki were friends, and many times Steve would throw rolls of paper out of the plane when he flew over our ranch in Walnut Grove as a calling card as if to say, "just driving by and wanted to say hi". When Mark got very sick he took him up in his plane and gave him a birds eye view of Grand Island and his land. It was such a treat for him to see that view and he talked about that trip for weeks. Steve brought great joy and many smiles to all of us in Walnut Grove. He is now in heaven with Mark looking down at all of us in the Delta. I hope your memories keep you strong during this difficult time. Being a young widow is not an easy path. Just know that Steve was a great guy and we will miss him. Sending you all my prayers, Roberta Kunisaki (Walnut Grove, CA.).

Karen, my thoughts and prayers are with you; my heart truly goes out to you. Though I was only able to get to know the two of you for 20 minutes each week, it didn't take long to recognize what a beautiful couple you made! Steven's grin with his black cherry mocha will be forever imprinted in my mind :) May God Bless you.... Jennifer Harter
