I did not know Dr. Leighty passed. My condolences to the family. I knew Dr. Leighty as my oral surgeon in 2008-2010. He performed a very invasive double jaw surgery on me on my 18th birthday. My mom´s date choice, not mine. I would see him often as we prepped before my surgery and afterwards while healing, with my jaws wired shut. He made me check in with him to make sure I was healing healthily with minimal pain and not losing too much weight. He was a kind man, I remember he came in New Year´s Day to check in on me after surgery. Funny enough he seemed like he partied a little too hard the night before on New Years Eve, but still managed to come in and check in on his patient. I will remember him for his caring demeanor towards me.
