Nipomo, California - Steven Kent Moy was welcomed into the presence of Jesus in heaven on January 31, 2022. He died unexpectedly and suddenly succumbing to COPD and pneumonia in Marian Hospital in Santa Maria, California, after falling from a ladder at work breaking his pelvis five days earlier.
How do you write the measure of a man – the value of a life? The world judges often by the monetary success achieved. Some would say Steve didn't fulfill his life's potential. But those who knew him would say his was a life well lived. Steve was a born-again Christian who loved Jesus with all his heart. He was intelligent, insightful, honest, hardworking, loyal. But what made him special was his compassion, honest concern for others, his thoughtfulness, and genuine caring nature. He quietly touched other lives with small acts of kindness without calling attention to himself. He would see a need and fill it without telling anyone he did. Steve lived in California his whole life. He was born on April 6, 1958, and lived in Sacramento. California, until he moved to San Jose, California, in his twenties. Then he moved to Grover Beach in December 1998 and finally to Nipomo in 2019. He faithfully arrived early to set up, do recording and sound system for The Bridge Central Coast Church for decades where "everyone loves Steve" declared his pastor, Justin Jacobs. He was also loved by the staff at Straight Down where he worked. He is survived by his dad, Dave Moy; his mom, Honey Moy French; his sister, Laurie Moy; aunt Brenda Boles; aunt Glenda Keil and uncle Steve Keil. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ella Yee Fong and Harry B. Fong and Mr. and Mrs. Yim Gong Moy.
His Celebration of Life will be held on April 2, 2022, at 2 pm, at The Bridge Central Coast, 3070 Skyway Dr., Suite 203, Santa Maria, CA.
