I met Suzanne when she and I worked at Ann Taylor, but different locations. I remember thinking what a beautiful girl she was while shopping in her store one day, and we immediately clicked and I was always happy to see her from time to time.

A few years later, through a very dear mutual friend of ours, I was delighted to hear she was dating my brother. I was at my mom's house and my brother, Sean, was going to bring the “new girlfriend” to meet us. Suzanne came in with Sean, and again I was amazed how she lit up the room, and was so warm and easy to love. My mom and I were thrilled and couldn't wait for their life to begin together. Sean was over the moon with Suzanne. Their journey included marriage and a new home in Penn Valley, and eventually their beautiful daughter, and my niece, Lauren.

The greatest times that Suzanne and I shared were during our pregnancies, mine with my first born, and she with her Lauren. We emailed back and forth sometimes all day long. We talked about every-day things, like baby names, diapers, and bedtimes, and more serious things, like our hopes and dreams for our babies. We had so much in common and I saw in Suzanne the most selfless motherly love. She was an inspiration and a source of parental wisdom for me. Our time together was always infused with tons of laughter and Suzanne's sparkly wit. I was truly honored to have her for a sister in law, and I am grateful or her friendship.

I will miss my dear friend, and pray she has found peace. I feel all that knew her were graced with her presence, even if it wasn't nearly long enough. Rest in peace, sweet Suzanne. I love you, my friend, and am grateful for our time together
