January 9, 1957 - November 3, 2020
Citrus Heights, California - SIMMS, Tad Eric, of Citrus Heights, passed away on November 3, 2020, at age 63. Born in Sacramento on January 9, 1957, to Joe and Betty Simms, Tad gave 25 years of service to SMUD and will be well-remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Linda, his parents, and his sister Amy. He is survived by son Matthew Leurgans (Christian), daughters Alexandra Collins (Shawn) and Elizabeth Simms, sister Katie Simms, grandsons Connor and Noah Leurgans, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Celebration of Tad's life will be held Saturday, March 11, from 2:00-4:00pm at the Orangevale Community Center, Meeting Room A/B.

Tad was my supervisor at SMUD in the accounting department. He was a lovely human being and I feel privileged to have been able work with him and considered him a friend.
