Thomas Ainsley

AINSLEY, Thomas Passed away on July 22, 2014, at his home in Sacramento surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Chicago, IL and was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Dorothy Ainsley. After graduating from the University of Illinois he spent four years as an officer in the U.S. Army at the Presidio in San Francisco. Tom was employed for thirty years in sales and marketing with several major computer firms and retired in 1991. After retirement, Tom and Joan embarked on two ventures that changed and enhanced their lives. They bought a motor home and joined the Family Motor Coach Association in which they were active for 19 years, including Tom's term as President of the Western Area. Their second venture was to volunteer at the Visitor Center at Humboldt Redwoods State Park every summer. There they enjoyed greeting the many visitors and helping them learn about that beautiful redwood park. Tom is survived by his beloved wife Joan; sons Doug (Tammy), Matt (Kim), and Mark (Andrea), grandchildren Jadria, Shaysa, Joleah, Adam, Eli, Emily and Alyssa; brother Michael (Susan) their daughters Jennifer and Heather and their grandchildren Kaliska and Angenie. There will be a Celebration of Tom's Life on Sunday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Sierra 2 Center, 2791 24th Street, Sacramento, CA 95818. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Save the Redwoods League.
