Thomas Doyle Obituary

DOYLE, THOMAS EDWARD
August 15, 1928 - July 26, 2003


Born into a pioneer family, on August 15, 1928 to William John Doyle Sr. and Hazel Margaret Doyle. He was the third of five children born at the Doyle Ranch home which stood at 275 Folsom Road where Roseville Square is today. Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. His father was the founder of the Roseville Telephone Company currently known as Sure West Communications. Tom started on the Board of Directors in 1951 where he served as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, and Chairmen of the Board. He also served as Placer County Supervisor, Chairmen of the 1960 Olympics in Squaw Valley, Secretary of the Placer County Water Agency, Placer County Education Board, and helped to start Pop Warner Football in Roseville. In 1999 he retired as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Placer Savings Bank after 39 years. The many service organizations he belonged to include: Life member Roseville Masonic Lodge #222, Charter Member for 42 years Roseville Elks Lodge BPOE #2248, Ben Ali Shrine, Roseville Shrine Club serving a President and Fire Brigade, and Scottish Rite. The love of his Irish heritage led him to visit Ireland two times. Tom was a hard working, honest man, with a delightful sense of humor. He always had a story or joke to make anyone laugh. In his early days, he was a rancher and a farmer, in West Roseville with his brothers Jack and Bob. His enjoyment of the outdoors drew him to play baseball, hunt, and fish. In later years his favorite things to do included cooking his famous corned beef and cabbage every St. Patrick's Day, and the biggest turkey he could find for Thanksgiving, his two favorite holidays. He rose with the sun every morning to tend to his garden. He often traveled to his home away from home in Incline Village NV. Survived by his loving wife La Veda of 53 years, son Kirk Doyle his wife Loretta, daughter Darcy Sanchez her husband Jaime. Five grandchildren Rhiannon Sanchez, Shelby Milligan her husband Shawn, Johnny Ghirardelli, Kacie Doyle and Haley Doyle. Two great-grandchildren Baillie and Blake Thomas Milligan. Sister Betty Doyle Radford her husband Paul and sister-in-law Carmen Doyle. Also many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother William John (Jack) Doyle Jr., sister Marjorie Doyle Strauch, and brother Robert L. Doyle. The family held a private service and a celebration of his life will be August 15, 2003. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Sure West Foundation, Sacramento Shriners Children's Hospital, Sutter Roseville Hospital, or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

Dear sanchez family and grandma doyle

i am really sorry for your loss your grandpa and husband he was a great man he acheived a lot in his life and had lots of family to enjoy it with. take care and remember all those jokes he always told. he was one in a trillion.
