Thomas Irving Harding

September 7, 1930 - July 16, 2024

Sacramento, California - Thomas Irving Harding passed away on July 16, 2024, in Sacramento at the age of 93.Tom was born in Sacramento to Irving and Kathryn (Kilkenny) Harding in 1930. He grew up in East Sacramento, where his parents owned Harding's 5 and 10c Store at 38th and J Street. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and graduated from Christian Brothers High School in 1948. While attending Sacramento City College, Tom met Barbara Johnston and they married in 1953. He graduated from Sacramento State, worked for the State of California, and retired after over 40 years of service from the CHP. He was a life-long basketball fan having played in college, and later on at the YMCA. He followed the Warriors until the Kings came to town. He was a Kings season ticket holder from 1985 until the 2018/2019 season. He was known as "pshn80" on the Kings Fans online forum. Tom was a smart, warm, big-hearted person and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed by many friends, cousins, and especially his kids. He leaves behind his children John, Carol, Mary, and Ellen, daughter-in-law Lura, and grandson Leo, all of Sacramento. Tom was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 2022 and his sister Nancy Harding in 2015. Our family would like to thank the staff of Mercy McMahon Terrace for all the loving care he received. Family and friends are welcomed to gather for a celebration of his life on Saturday August 17th from 11am to 2pm at the Shepard Garden and Arts Center 3330 McKinley Boulevard in Sacramento.
