My sincerest condolences to the Sauer family. I was Bruce's admin support "way back" in 1995. I always saw him as a father figure and mentor in my life. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a very calming personality. My mother passed away this year on Valentine's Day. Bruce's passing and my mom's passing has served to remind me that there truly are wonderful people in this world. I will miss Bruce.

I have know Bruce since we started work with American Optical in Jan. 1959. We worked and commuted together. One day he ask me why I did not buy a cup of coffee and I told him the "I was broke". Bruce proceeds to drop a quarter in the coffee machine and buys me a cup of coffee. A few minutes later I notice that Bruce does not have any coffee. I ask him, "why are you not having coffee today", and he says;
"I gave you my last quarter."
Brucito- You will be truly missed....
a person like you is truly hard to find.

Like so many, I have a special place in my heart for Bruce Sauer. We started at "AO" the same day, became roommates and good friends. He was honest, unselfish, levelheaded, and loved to laugh. Goodbye my friend.
