Tom was my Little Brother when he pledged the fraternity. I was honored to be his guide as Tom worked to become a Brother. We had many good times at Chico State. We both went to work in the financial services industry. We would connect during fraternity luncheons and reunions. Later in life we both sadly were diagnosed with cancer and were treated at Stanford Cancer Center. Tom displayed tremendous courage and optimism during his cancer treatments. I am so glad Tom had a wonderful and loving wife in Ann. Tom will be missed at Fraternity reunions.

Tom was a wonderful brother in Delta Sigma Pi fraternity. His quick wit was the best!!
I was privileged and blessed to have shared a few years with him. He lit up the room when he was present.

I am so sorry that I missed the opportunity to reconnect with Tom at the DSP reunion in Chico this past summer. Tom and I met living in Shasta Hall at Chico State and then moved out together and lived in two separate Chico neighborhoods together in 1973 and 1974. Tom was my "big brother" sponsor in DSP. During our dorm days, Tom was famous for parking his car in locations that earned him countless parking tickets. His cars glove box was loaded with unpaid parking tickets which I´m sure he finally paid :). I had intended to visit with Tom the year prior in Marin County at the DSP reunion but apparently Tom´s health prevented him from attending in 2024. How I wished I would have had the opportunity to sit down and share a beer and laugh at our crazy Chico State memories. Blessings to Tom´s family as you grieve this loss. Dan Herbert

Thomas´ brother John was one of my older brother´s very best friends through grammar and high school and beyond. He was one of my favorites and I got exposed a bit to your wonderful family, especially Patty. So sorry that you have lost another loved member.

At birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe they will always travel on our side. However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone.
As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant i.e., our siblings, friends, children, and perhaps even the love of your life. Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we don´t realize they vacated their seats.
This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells.
Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers requiring that we give the best of ourselves.
The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way, love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for us step down and leave our seat empty, we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.
I wish you a joyful journey on the train of life. Reap success and give lots of love. More importantly, thank God for the journey.
Lastly, I thank you Tom for being one of the passengers on my train.
