Like Mark Squires, I still think of Tom almost daily. In the sign in area where they ask how you know Tom, the choices are:family, friend, work, school and other. I never know which to check because even though we were not related by blood, we spent enough time in each other's homes that we could be considered family. At least I loved him and his family like my own. Friend? For over 70 years. Work? Well, I spent a lot of time with him and Mark when they worked at the Double R Vet in Calabasas. School? 3rd grade almost through Jr High, and Other? We were friends in every way. I miss you my friend.

Since my November post about Tom, I have found myself almost daily thinking I need to send this article, joke or picture, forgetting he´s not there to reply. I think of him like a ship you watch sailing off into the distance, you follow it until it disappears over the horizon, you can´t see it but know it´s out there. Tom I know you´re out there & boy are you missed.

Tom´s passing is almost impossible to accept. Our friendship began at the end of the 7th grade, included schooling through high school, Best Man at our wedding in 1964. Such great memories of our shared experiences in the Canyon, Topanga that was. As others have said Tom was easy to be around & made instant friends wherever he went. Our love goes out to Tom´s memory, Suzanne´s being his loving partner & his sister Annette, a big sister to me.

Tom was one of my favorite people at Contractor's Board. His sense of humor and kindness was so appreciated.
He will truly be missed.

Papa was the best grandpa any kid could ask for. To picking me up from school in his various vehicles over the years (loved the mini cooper lol), to his dry sense of humor, to always wanting to stop and get something to eat, and to taking him through his first ever drive thru; there was never a dull moment. He always put a smile on my face and gave the biggest and best hugs. My papa was the best, and the only grandpa I had. He was such a loving, caring, and genuine human being. I am so lucky to have had my papa and all the memories I will remember forever. I love you always and forever papa <3

Tom was like a brother to me in Topanga. Whenever we would see each other after years apart, it felt like time hadn´t passed. He was always smiling and funny. RIP

Everything said in the obituary is true, but I would like to add some things. Tom was fiercely loyal to friends and family. Being with him always brought me a sense of comfort, a feeling that I belonged. I think others would say the same thing. He just had that way about him. Tom and I have been friends since we were 8 years old, and his passing cannot change that. I am both fortunate and proud to have been a friend.
