Tom Takata Obituary
Born on June 1, 1919. Passed away on June 7, 2004. Tom was a caring man who will be fondly remembered by his family and friends. He cherished his years playing point guard for the Wakaba basketball team, and was proud to have served with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team in WWII, where he was decorated with a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Tom will be dearly missed by his wife, Rose; daughters, Christine Takata and Nori Tipon; grandson, Michael Tipon; sister, Yukie (Kiyoshi) Mori; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Asao Takata. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, June 13, 2004, 3:00 PM at the Sacramento Buddhist Church, 2401 Riverside Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Tom's memory may be made to the Asian Community Nursing Home or a favorite charity. Arranged by GEORGE L. KLUMPP CHAPEL OF FLOWERS
