When Greg called me to tell me the news, disbelief washed over me. I was just thinking about her the very same day he called. I still can't believe I lost one of my very best friends. I will never forget her smile or her upbeat, bubbly personality. My kids knew her as "Auntie Tracy". She was like a sister to me and was the Maid of Honor at my wedding even though she was 8 months pregnant. She looked adorable and was ecstatic that she was about to become a mother. I will never forget the time we spent together-through high school and beyond. I love you Tracy!! You will forever be missed.

Losing someone is never easy but losing a child and a mother is extremely difficult. I would like to share a poem I received when my son passed away at 27. It gives me some peace of heart:

When I leave you for a little while please do not grieve and shed wild tears and hug your sorrow through the years, but start out bravely with a gallant smile. And for my sake and in my name live on and do all things the same, feed not your loneliness on empty days but fill each waking hour in useful ways, reach outyour hand in comfort and in cheer and I will in turn comfort you and hold you near, and never never be afraid to die for I am waiting for you in the sky.

with much love and sympathy,
Darlene

ps I love you Elaine

To Elaines Family,
I just wanted to let you know what a warm, wonderful person she was to me. I would see her around town, always smiling and taking such love and care of her children. We would always talk about our kids, as her son is close in age to my little one. Her daughter is always so sweet and would tell me about her toys. Her face just lit up when she would talk about them. I am truly saddened by her departure, and will be thinking of her and her sweet babies.
With upmost sincerety,
R.Fuller

Dear Elaine and Greg,
This morning when I was thumbing through the newspaper I was in utter shock. The loss of Tracy is a shock. She was a nice, caring, wonderful, kind person who always looked on the positive side of things. We are deeply saddened by her passing, and we would like to extend our deepest condolences to your family. She was definitely a one of a kind person. She will truly be a star shining in Heaven.
