Valerie was a cheerful, positive "upper" whenever I ran into her during my years at Sutter Memorial. Sutter was lucky to have had her as an employee for so many years!

My loving godmother was an incredible woman who inspired me throughout all stages of my life. Challenging me to question things as a young adult, teaching me to not be so serious all the time (an amazing trait of hers for sure), encouraging me throughout high school and college and later in my professional career - first in long-term care and then onto healthcare. We grew to have many things in common. The hours we would spend talking on the phone are memories I will treasure forever. As my mother´s childhood friend they couldn´t have been more opposite and the wisdom and support I gained from her are surely missed already. After losing our parents to cancer way too young she stepped in as moral support - whenever I needed her she was there and for that I loved her so, so dearly! God broke the mold when he made Val and I am blessed to have had her in my life as a friend, confidant, cheerleader, and motherly presence. Val - you are so dearly missed by myself, Jim, Lauren Kaitlyn and my siblings. I know you´re in a better place now and for that I am greatful. Always and forever Suzanne
