Vera, the matriarch of the Crandall family, died peacefully at home as she wished. The ultimate party girl had one last hurrah in November when we celebrated her 90th birthday with great fanfare. She was young at heart and never considered herself to be old! Her feisty indomitable spirit and personality won her many friends, young and old alike.

Loving mother of Camille Chacon, Frank (Mary) Crandall and Marty (Candace) Crandall, Adored grandmother of Scott, Matt (Pam) and Jonathan (Melissa) Brozek, Robbie Crandall, Erin Crandall and Nick (Jenn) Manaici. Cherished great grandmother of Ryan, Reese, Riley, Pierce, Kayla and Connor, She is also survived by daughter-in-law, Feliz Crandall, brother-in-law, Bill Rico and nieces, Carol Norcia and Linda Schroeder. She was predeceased by her parents, Cotogno and Lena Camillo, her husband of 56 years, Bob, her eldest son, Michael, grandson, Corey, and sisters, Josie, Ann and Alberta.

Vera was a 30+ year volunteer for Sutter Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Arberesh Club of Sacramento, and Teamsters, Local 150, Retirees Club.

Memorial service to be held Monday April 30, at Sacred Heart Church, corner of 39th and J St., Sacramento, at 10 a.m. Donations in her memory can be made to Mercy Hospice of Sacramento

I had come to know Vera over the past couple of years. She had a piquant sense of humor and I consider it a privilege to have had the pleasure of enjoying Vera's wit, charisma and determination. My thoughts are with Vera's family.

hi Crandall Family. my memories of your mother, father, your family are vivid. amazing because so many of my memories are lost to the wind. your mom wore some very fun pedal pushers, as we called them. she was always bustling around the house with all of you and then all of us who felt welcome and visited the crandall home on e street. we were lucky children. i am thinking of you and holding you near to my heart as you enter this horrible pool of grief. and i am sending you my love. frank died in june of 2010 -- he adored your mom. always named her "the hottie". take care of each other; smile when you can. all my love, heidi
