Vicki Ann Voreyer
September 14, 1957 - August 8, 2025
Roseville, California - Vicki Ann Voreyer passed away peacefully at home on August 8th, 2025 in Roseville, California with her husband Matthew Voreyer, nieces Christina Reynolds and Angela Dowdle, and nephew Ryan Voreyer at her side providing comfort and love. Vicki was born in Redwood City, California and spent her early life living on the San Francisco Peninsula. Her family also lived in Atlanta, Chicago and Houston before returning back to the peninsula where she graduated from San Mateo High School. Vicki attended the College of San Mateo and San Jose State University where she studied liberal arts and accounting. Following in the footsteps of her father Bill she entered into the hospitality industry and went to work for Hyatt Hotels Corporations eventually becoming an Assistant Controller at their San Francisco Embarcadero location. This is where she met Matt who was the Assistant Front Desk Manager. After a brief courtship the two were married in November of 1991. Vicki developed a love of cooking while spending time in the kitchen with her beloved cousin Anna "Non" Miceli, mother Joan Olcese and sister Chris Olcese. Vicki was a gracious hostess and accomplished cook who loved to try new recipes and techniques. There wasn't a kitchen gadget nor a pot or pan she didn't own. She shared this passion while working as an associate at Williams Sonoma earning countless awards for her excellence in sales. She was a "Foodie" long before it became popular and enjoyed reading cooking magazines and watching cooking shows. Despite battling cancer, Vicki found the strength to submit an entry into the 2025 California State Fair baking competition in July. She was awarded first place and "Best in Class" honors in the refrigerated cakes category. Along with a love of family, her Christian faith was an important part of Vicki's life. She was an active parishioner at St Clare Catholic Church in Roseville serving with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus focusing on care for those less fortunate in the Roseville community. She and Matt attended mass weekly together, Vicki serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Matt serving as an usher. Their faith provided great comfort during her brief illness. Vicki was a life-long San Francisco Forty Niners fan and loved watching the team with her family. Quiet Sunday mornings at church often transitioned into cheering sessions in the afternoon at home as Vicki changed into her team jersey and rooted for her 49ers. Vicki is remembered for being a devoted wife of 34 years to her husband Matt, a caring daughter to her mother Joan Olcese, a thoughtful sister to Chris Olcese and brother Michael Olcese (partner Pam), a compassionate cousin to Madeliene Scheiman (partner Tony), a loving sister-in-law to 13 brothers/sisters-in-law, a loving aunt to 18 nieces and nephews, a great-aunt to 23 great-nieces and great-nephews. During her last year of life Vicki developed a special bond with her 15 month-old great-nephew Bennett who brought her joy and sunshine during their visits together. She was preceded in death by her father Bill Olcese, cousins Anna and John Miceli, father-in-law John Voreyer, mother-in-law Connie Voreyer, brother-in-law Richard Lalami and niece Hannah Lalami.
