Virginia's life was defined by her devotion to family, faith, education, and service. After moving to California in 1956, she earned her nursing degree from Sacramento City College in 1966 and worked as a SICU nurse at Mercy General Hospital, providing compassionate care throughout her career.

A dedicated community member, Virginia was a Brownie and Cub Scout leader, a classroom volunteer, and a lifelong advocate for justice. She was also an avid San Antonio Spurs fan, forming a special bond with Coach Gregg Popovich.

She is survived by her children Adrian (Linda), Dr. Stephanie (Louis), Mary Virginia, and Lt Col Isaac Keith; grandchildren Myles (Jill), Andrea, Nikki (Andy), Virginia L. (Jeffrey), Stephen, Jena, and Julian (Linnea); and great-grandchildren Elijah, Emma, Blake, Leila Virginia, Koa, and Noa Virginia. She also leaves behind her goddaughter, Thyra Riley (Frank).

My sincere condolences to all of those who were touched by such a beautiful soul. I had the blessings to be one of the RN's to meet Virginia and her loving family. Providing care to Virginia was like helping a family member as her daughter Mary always showed such compassion and true concern which makes this hit home. Tomorrow isn't promised and Virginia you will NEVER be forgotten. May you rest in peace and watch over us with that beautiful smile and loving heart. Your RN Francess Thomas.

Ms. Woodfork will always be in my heart as one of our building´s favorite patients. I know that every staff member at Advanced loved her like she was our own grandma, and she showed us that same love every single day she was in our care.
