Walter Herger Obituary
Passed away on October 24, 2004, at age 89. He was a lifelong resident of Rio Oso. He was a self-employed dairyman for 75 years and the owner of Herger Gas Company since 1935. He was a member of the Liquid Propane Gas Association and the Fairview Community Church of Rio Oso. Mr. Herger was preceded in death by daughter Jean Herger and brothers Emil and Johnnie Staub. He is survived by his son, Wally Herger Jr. of Chico, CA, daughters Tricia Berkebile of Auburn, CA, and Katherine Herger of Sacramento, sisters Bertha Gisler and Emma Cain, both of Marysville, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A visitation will be hosted by Lipp and Sullivan Chapel from 2:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday. Fairview Community Church in Rio Oso will hold the service at 2:30 PM on Thursday, Oct. 28, Pastor Daniel Bradfield officiating. Interment, Fairview Cemetery, Rio Oso. Remembrances may be made to a charity of donor's choice.
