El Dorado Hills, California - Wendell Bryan Bonner, a resident of El Dorado Hills, California, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born on December 18, 1936, in Oroville, California, to Minnie and Theodore Bonner of Durham, California.
Wendell served in the Naval Reserves for eight years before embarking on a 33-year career with Lawson Mechanical Contractors. He was also employed by other companies before retiring in 1990. Wendell was an avid pilot, holding a pilot's license, and enjoyed flying his Cessna 180. He also had a passion for building and flying model airplanes.
Wendell is survived by his wife of 67 years, AlLeta Bonner, his brother Lester of Thailand, his sister & brother-in-law Connie & David Bolkcom of Rio Linda, and his four sons: Danny and wife Donna of Elverta, Hoby of El Dorado Hills, Brian and wife Cindy of Shingle Springs, and Steven of Sacramento. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Wendell was preceded in death by his older brother Clyde, who passed away in 2005 in Rainier, Oregon.
A celebration of Wendell's life will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Folsom Community Center, located at 52 Natoma Street in Folsom, California.
