Bill "Billy" Campos, born June 5, 1951 in Los Angeles, passed away surrounded by love Sept. 3, 2018. Survived by his loving wife of 39 years Rachel Rios, children Sotero, Guillermo, Nicolette and Dominic (Perla), grandchildren Elias, Isabella, Daphne and William, mother Hortense Saldivar and loved family members. He is preceded in death by his father, 4 brothers, a sister, and step father. Billy was a proud Vietnam Veteran and a Criminal Justice graduate of Sacramento State University. He had a rewarding career as a Peace Officer and retired as a Parole Supervisor. Billy was a mentor to many and was heavily involved in giving back to the community. He never forgot where he came from and never gave up hope in the potential of others. He always had a big smile and a funny story to tell. He loved his family, friends, cooking, golfing, volunteering and especially traveling with his beloved Rachel. He embraced every day with playful humor and his laughter and beautiful spirit will be missed. Services to be held Thursday, September 13, 2018 - 10:00am at St. Anthony Church, 660 Florin Rd. Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to La Familia Counseling Center to help at-risk youth.

RACHEL, I love you dearly my sister, my heart aches for your pain and I need to hold you. Bill is loved and many hearts broken. Alexandria couldn't have a better God Father, she adores him. Forgive me please that I am not accepting he is gone. Rachel, Bill"s love and admiration for you, is the greatest memory. I m worried about you my sister, who is going to bring you coffee every morning? Who will feed killer? Who will pull kitty out of the drive way everyday? Who is going to get mad at me for being in HIS kitchen? All my condolences to you Rachael and your family for the loos of my dear and loving friend Billy. Just heard of his absence of life moments ago from from my ex-wife who had met Bill's playful personality and warm smile. It was Bill, Ty Espinoza, and Lyman Lum where we played many hours of racquetball, golf and fly-fished up in Dunsmuir where I now live nearby. Had hoped us buddies would meet up again soon this way, and recreate our times together - soon. I now too feel at loss to have lost a good dear friend and compadre.
Please know that Billy has loved and spoken about you and his children with such love and devotion.
If you ever care to talk (as we have met several times before at your home...), please do. In loving memory... bless you and your family.

I was so sad when I heard you had lost your husband, father, grandfather and son. Bill was on the Alice Birney PTA with me when Nikki and my daughter Liz were there. He was so much fun and always a bright light in the room.
