CARLSON, WILLIAM ''CHIEF''
Age 43, died Friday, October 24, 2003. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Friday, October 31, 2003 at John F. Kennedy Chapel at Ft. Bragg in Fayetteville. A graveside service will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 2, 2003 at Macon Memorial Park in Macon, Georgia. Born November 17, 1959 in Fairfield, CA, he was a son of the late Peter D. Carlson. Mr. Carlson was a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army serving in Operation Enduring Freedom. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Cheri Carlson of Southern Pines; his mother and stepfather, Roberta and Ralph Kitchell of West Sacramento, CA; two sons, Shaun Carlson and Shayne Carlson, both of Southern Pines; a brother, David Carlson of Sacramento, CA; two sisters, Rebecca Carlson of West Sacramento and Sheri Harnan of Sacramento; and aunts, uncles, and cousins in Sacramento, Fairfield, and Vacaville, CA, Redmond, WA, and Browning, MT. The family will be receiving friends from 7:00-9:00 PM on Thursday at Powell Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the William "Chief" Carlson Memorial Fund, 1715 U.S. Hwy 1 South, Southern Pines, NC 28387.
