William Howell Obituary

HOWELL, William Thomas
Mr. Howell, age 72, of Davis passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007, at his home. He had been an area resident for 22 years. Bill was born February 23, 1935 in Hollywood, Calif., to Clarence and Alice Howell. He grew up in Lakeport, Calif., and owned a ranch for many years. Bill was a life member of the Lake County Historical Society and avidly read all of the history. As a youth, Bill was an outdoorsman. He served in the U.S. Air Force and taught survival training in the Sierras out side of Reno, Nevada. Bill clearly loved his little black and tan doxie, Sammy and the love was returned two fold. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Diane May Howell; sons: Carey (Jennifer) Howell and Robert (Leticia) Howell; stepsons: Frank (Lei) Bowen and Robert Bowen; grandsons Matthew, Christopher and Andrew Howell and granddaughter Jessica Howell. Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 3, at 10:00 AM at WISCOMBE'S DAVIS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 116 D Street, with Pastor Tom Norvell officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bill's memory to Soroptimist International of Greater Davis Memorial Fund, American Red Cross, Yolo County Chapter Disaster Relief or American Heart Association. To the Family of Bill Howell:
I'm very sorry to learn of Bill's passing. He was one of my first clients when I opened my business and his dream of putting the bridge across Scott's Creek turned into a "nightmare" for the both of us! I always appreciated his stories, his patience, and his knowledge of Lakeport's history. He was a fascinating man, and I truly valued his friendship. I'm sorry I can't be in Davis today to pay my respects, but I'll place a flower at his bridge. I will remember him fondly.
Sincerely,

Virginia Stilley (Dorr)

I was saddened to learn of Bill's death. He was in my class at school. He was always so nice and dressed so neatly. He was well liked by everyone.

Was saddened to learn of Bills passing. I have known Bill since our childhood years in Scotts Valley. We belonged to the local
4-H club. Remember him having a beautiful vegetable garden. I shall remember Bill as a super nice person who everyone liked.
My sympathy to all of his family.

Love & God Bles,
Jeanette Dorr Kemp
