Herzog, Leo 2/1/1944 - 7/18/2019 Mullett Lake MI It is with great sadness that the family of Leo Henry Herzog, of Mullett Lake, MI announces his passing on July 18, 2019. Leo's professional life included a 32-year management career with Chrysler Financial Corporation. He was respected for his business acumen as well as his sharp wit. Leo's passion for the automotive industry continued in Northern Michigan where his love of connecting people with cars flourished. Customers often sought Leo for his integrity as well as his larger than life personality. He transitioned his business savvy to Inverness Township where he volunteered as a township trustee. He was also active in his parish, St. Mary's/St. Charles Catholic Church, serving as an usher as well a volunteer at Bishop Baraga Catholic School. Although professional excellence was achieved, without question his greatest legacy is his family. Leo was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Louise, earlier this year in February. His total devotion to her was a testament to his faith. He was a loving father to Amy (Herzog) Wall, (Stephen), Mary (Herzog) Shepard, (Timothy), and Steven Herzog, (Christine). Grandfather to Zach, Mitchell, Jack, Rachel, Kelsey, Carly, Megan, and Thomas. Leo was predeceased by his parents Theodore and Marguerite. He leaves behind beloved brothers Theodore (Ted), Richard, Robert, and Kenneth as well as sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and a wealth of friends too numerous to name but equally valued. A special thank you to the community that supported Leo, especially Drs. Don Watson and Paula DeKeyser, and several members of the Ormsbee and Armentrout families. A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas in Saginaw, Michigan on Wednesday, July 24th where he was also a longtime parishioner. The family will welcome visitors at 12:30 pm with a funeral mass at 1:00 pm and luncheon to follow.
