Francis Overmoyer Obituary

CATTARAUGUS - Francis J. Overmoyer, 89, of Cattaraugus, formerly of East Otto, passed away Friday (Sept. 21, 2018) at Buffalo General Hospital.

He was born Jan. 25, 1929, in East Otto, a son of the late Walter and Mabel Dillie Overmoyer. On June 7, 1950, he married the former Eva M. Vietnam, who predeceased him on Jan. 3, 2012.

Mr. Overmoyer worked for many years at Setter Brothers and Champion International, both of Cattaraugus.

He is survived by four sons, Melvin Overmoyer of Mystic, Conn., Francis G. (Patricia Law) Overmoyer of Bloomfield, Walter (Sandra) Overmoyer of East Otto and Gene Overmoyer of Cattaraugus; two daughters, Mabel Coates of Collins and Eva Cummings of North Collins; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his loving wife, he was predeceased by a son, Paul Overmoyer; and a daughter, Edith Harrell.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 26, 2018) at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St. in Little Valley. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Otto Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the East Otto Vol. Fire Department.
