Ronald Anderson Obituary

KILL BUCK - Ronald L. Anderson, 69, of Kill Buck, passed away unexpectedly Friday (Oct. 28, 2022).

Born Aug. 18, 1953, in Salamanca, he was the son of the late Donald R. and Eva Plume Anderson.

Growing up in Salamanca and moving to Deshler, Ohio, in 1970, Ron graduated from Patrick Henry High School in Deshler, Class of 1971.

After graduation, Ron went to work with the B&O Railroad as a trackman, working his way up to supervisor. Later in his career with the railroad, he was promoted to engineer of track and transferred to the Akron division, Akron, Ohio.

In an effort to relocate his family back to Salamanca, Ron went to work for the Federal Railroad Administration, with offices in Cambridge, Mass. At the beginning of his career with the FRA, he was a track inspector. He worked his way up to track specialist, overseeing a large territory of several states. Ron retired in 2011 from the FRA. He often said "they paid me to do something I love to do."

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Debbie; a daughter, Dawn Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Michael Anderson and Robert Anderson; and his son, Ronald Anderson Jr.

There will be no visitation. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Green Cemetery, next to his son, Ronnie.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.

I happened upon this quite by accident. I am a classmate of Ronnie Jr. He was a great kid and I was fortunate to know him. Sad to read of his Father´s passing - almost one year ago - but confident that they found one another:-) I got my car stuck your family´s driveway on Hardscrabble once - in a deep puddle that had frozen over. Ok, maybe I overshot the driveway. Anyway, I wish a peaceful heart for you. And I´ll always think of your loved ones.
