Thomas Eckberg Obituary
He was born June 2, 1936, in Jamestown, the son of the late William A. and Mable (Lewis) Eckberg.
He was a 1955 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1956-1959.
Mr. Eckberg was a retired electrician with Local 106 I.B.E.W. in Jamestown. He currently served as chairman of the Thule Lodge in Jamestown, and was the former chief of the Vikings for the Vikings Lodge of Jamestown.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his five grandchildren. Over the year he remodeled many homes in the area and he enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by two children, Kelley (Mark) Liskow of Randolph and Eric (Julie) Eckberg of Kiantone; five grandchildren, Tyler Liskow of Broadhead, Wisc., Evan Liskow of Randolph, and Mallory Brannon, Elyse Eckberg and Benjamin Eckberg, all of Kiantone; and his former wife, Janice Kelley-Vanord of Westfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mable; a sister, Ineze Seastedt; and a grandson, Adam Liskow.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday (Dec. 23, 2021) VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Jamestown. A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2022 at the Vikings Club on Chautauqua Lake and will be announced.
