Wilbur Wright Obituary

CATTARAUGUS - Wilbur R. Wright, 96, of Cattaraugus, passed away Monday (April 10, 2017) in Buffalo.

He was born May 15, 1920, in Mansfield, a son of the late Archie and Martha Hale Wright. On Aug. 2, 1941, in Randolph, he married the former Gertrude Smith, who predeceased him in 2007.

Mr. Wright was a dairy farmer and also was a self-employed truck driver, hauling milk for many years. He additionally was a self-employed logger.

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Perrysburg.

Mr. Wright is survived by three sons, Ronald Wright of Springville and James Wright and Wayne Wright, both of Cattaraugus; two daughters, Jane (Phillip) Frentz of Cattaraugus and Joan Hale of East Randolph; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his loving wife, he is predeceased by a son, Paul Wright; a grandson, Michael; five brothers; and three sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday (April 14, 2017) from Roberts Memorial Free Methodist Church in Cattaraugus. Burial will be in New Albion Lower Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St., Little Valley.
