Alexander Anaya-Locklear

SALISBURY - Alexander Anaya-Locklear, 12, of 240 Westway Lane, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, in Lumberton as a result of an accident on an ATV.

Born June 7, 1995, in Rowan County, he was the son of Anita Lynn Locklear and Osbaldo Anaya, both of Salisbury. He was a student at West Rowan Middle School, where he had completed the sixth grade. He loved soccer, popping wheelies and his family and friends. He always thought of others first.

Other than his parents, survivors include sisters Shayla Marie Anaya-Locklear and Ariana Nicole Anaya-Locklear of the home; maternal grandparents Bobby Glenn and Marie Locklear of Salisbury; paternal grandmother Ma-Ines Anaya M. of Mexico; aunts Ma-De Lourdes Salas Anaya and Crescenciana Anaya M., both of Mexico, Angela Dawn Locklear-Steen, Cindy Alanna Locklear and Linda Rosanna Locklear; and uncles Bobby Glenn Locklear Jr., Alejandro Salas Anaya, Alfredo Salas Anaya and Dante Homero Salas Anaya, all of Salisbury.

Service: The body was taken to the home on Thursday where it will remain until it is taken for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Most Rev. Peter J. Jugis, Bishop of Charlotte, will officiate. Burial will follow at City Memorial Park.

I am so sad at the loss of Alex I was his best friend at school and we were always partners in every activity that went on. He truly was a great friend and it kills me to lose him. But now we know he's with God in heaven and I will always have a place for him in my heart.

I am very sorry for your loss. Alex was a player on my soccer team a few years ago and he was wonderful. He gave everything he had and more. I will never forget the last game when we lost he cried and it broke my heart. He was a good boy. My prayers are with your family.
