Barbara Hensley Obituary

Barbara Sherrill Hensley, age 75, of N. Chesterfield, VA, earned her heavenly wings unexpectedly December 1, 2023. She was born March 15, 1948 in North Carolina to Joseph C. Sherrill and Addie Geneva (Goodman) Sherrill. A lifelong resident of Kannapolis, NC, she spent her remaining years in N. Chesterfield, VA. A devout Christian woman, she grew up in the Earle Street Church of God and was a faithful member of God's Church of Faith in Kannapolis until her health kept her from attending. Yet, her faith never wavered. A former nursing assistant for the VA hospital in NC, she had to retire early due to her disability. She leaves behind daughter, Angela Watts of N. Chesterfield, VA; son, Dana Joe (DJ) Hensley of Concord, NC; granddaughter, Jessica Mitchum (Austin) of China Grove, NC; great-grandchildren, Maddie and Joseph Luke of China Grove, NC; and numerous cousins and beloved friends. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Addie Geneva Sherrill. A visitation will take place at 1pm with a memorial service following at 2pm Monday, December 11th, 2023 at God's Church of Faith, 811 Elm St, Kannapolis, NC.
