Bishop Robinson Obituary

Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Bishop Ronald Robinson

With sorrowful yet grateful hearts, we celebrate the homegoing of Bishop Ronald Robinson, who transitioned from labor to reward on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. He was born August 30, 1957, in Rowan County, NC, the youngest child of the late Willie Frank Robinson and Bettye Robinson.

Bishop Robinson was a man of deep faith, steadfast love, and lifelong service. A devoted husband, father, veteran, and pastor, he lived his life with humility, strength, and purpose. Educated in the Rowan County public schools, he earned his GED in South Carolina and went on to receive degrees from Livingstone College and Hood Theological Seminary.

He honorably served in the United States Army and retired from Freightliner, Daimler Trucking, where he worked faithfully as a material handler. A member of the American Legion Post, he dedicated time to supporting fellow veterans and giving back to his community. He was known for his quiet strength, generous spirit, and love for fitness -- staying active with martial arts and racquetball.

Preceding him in death were his parents; siblings, Willie Frank Jr., Marvin, and Theodore Robinson; and stepsons, Courtney Cowan and James Calvin Smyre, Jr.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 14 years, Lora Denise Robinson; children, Lovette (Christopher), Michael, Ronald (Shakila), Ronette (Joseph), Ethel (DeAndre), and ShaVon; siblings, Shirley Robinson, Garrett Robinson, and Kathleen Allen (Donald); numerous grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a loving host of family, church members, and friends.

Bishop Robinson lived the gospel, not only from the pulpit but in every act of kindness, every word of wisdom, and every prayer he lifted. His legacy of faith, love, and service lives on in all who knew him.

“Well done, thy good and faithful servant.”
