Briana Steele Obituary
STATESVILLE - Briana Shea Steele, 6, of 292 Skyuka Road, took the hand of Jesus on Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She has gone home and is living with Jesus in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Briana was born Feb. 24, 2000, in Rowan County, the daughter of Bradley Spencer and Renee Steele. She was a first-grade student at Troutman Elementary School.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandparents, Gary and Becky Lamberth of Troutman, Kent and Pat Mishak of Rockwell and Joe A. and Tonya Steele of Mooresville; great-grandparents Ken and Linda Sheets, Nancy and J.D. Lamberth and Joe A. Steele Sr.; aunts Jennifer Lamberth, Becky Mishak and Amber Moser; uncles Jody Combs, Will Moser and Joe Steele III; great-aunts Judy Mason, Robin Dillard and Beverly Woods; great-uncles Larry Woods, Michael Woods and Dwight Dillard; cousins Dylan Combs, Jay Dillard, Ryan Dillard, Christie Dillard, Alaina Dillard, Andy and Tyler Moser, Samantha Woods and Chris Dugger.
She was preceded in death by grandmother Connie Needham, great-grandmother Ruby Steele and uncle Michael Mishak.
Service: A Celebration of Life service will be held for Briana at 2 p.m. today at Ostwalt Baptist Church in Troutman with the Rev. Wesley Morris officiating. Pallbearers will be Paul Brown, Will Moser, Joe Cashion and Travis Crotts. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Park.

I am so sorry for your loss. My sister called me and told my about it the day of the funeral. I tried every means possible to contact you. I will be praying for you and your family. I am sorry that it has taken a tragedy in order for me to have to cantact you. I still remember the days that we would lay out of school to go hunting or the fun we had cutting up in band. You were always a good friend to me. I enjoyed all the fun you and I had hunting,fishing and so on. Tell your mom, Gary, and Jennifer that will keep them in my prayer as well. God bless you all. But you can take comfort in the fact that Briana is well and happy in her new home! Briana went to my church, and I remember her being such a beautiful little girl. I was there the day her and Ms. Becky joined our church. The Preacher asked her where Jesus was and she said "He lives in my heart". What a blessing she was. When I think about her in Heaven, I picture Jesus sitting down, with Briana cuddled up in his lap. Brad and Renee are neighbors of ours.
This is one of the most difficult things I know you have ever experienced. I remember the times that Brad and Briana would ride the 4-wheeler to our house. And the times that Briana would peek out the window and ask to come out and play when she would see us walking down the street with Austin.
