Carlos Lamont Hicks

EAST SPENCER - Carlos Lamont Hicks, age 30, affectionately called "Los," of 415 N. Long St., died Saturday May 17, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.

He was born Sept. 8, 1977, in Salisbury to Michael Heilig and Wanda Smith Hicks.

Carlos attended North Rowan High School and was last employed at K&W Cafeteria.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shaniya Hick, on July 21, 2007.

Those who survive to cherish his memory are sons Jalon Hicks and Omarion Hicks, both of Salisbury; daughter T`yana Hicks, Salisbury; parents Michael Heilig and Wanda Smith, both of Salisbury; brother Vance Robertson, Salisbury; sisters Angie Hicks Phifer (Richard), Salisbury, and Kisha Hicks-Gibson (Wellington), Atlanta, Ga.; maternal grandmother Everlyn Allison, Salisbury; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Jerusalem Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. David Bracken, officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation: The family is meeting at 305 N. Shaver St., Salisbury and Woodedge Circle, Heiligton Community, East Spencer.
