Charles Hunter Gauge Schenk

Charles "Hunter" Gauge Schenk, 18, of Rockwell, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2016. He was born on April 28, 1998 to Daniel Schenk and Jennifer Shoe in Salisbury, NC. Hunter was a rising senior at East Rowan High School, where he was a member of the Honors Chorus and ROTC. He was a member of Organ Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Luther League. Hunter was a 2016 Boys State Nominee, and a member of the Heritage Hunt Club. Hunter was an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt and fish and he had a passion for singing. Hunter is survived by his father, Daniel Schenk and wife Hope; Mother, Jennifer Shoe and husband Scott; Three Brothers, Josh Schenk, Blaze Shoe, and Reagan Shoe; Sister, EmmaGrace Shoe; Grandparents, Lakey Curlee and husband Bobby, Carolyn Bost, and Sherry Schenk; Charles Owen and wife Mary, Richard Shoe and wife Carole, Joseph Schenk, and Ken Nance and wife Roberta; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2016, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at 3:00 pm at Organ Lutheran Church, Salisbury, NC, with Rev. Carlin Ours, officiating.
