Clyde Overcash Obituary

Clyde S. Overcash

COLUMBIA, S.C. - LTC Clyde Stephen Overcash, U.S. Army (Ret), 63, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007.

Born in Salisbury, N.C., he was the son of the late Clyde Alexander and Lorene Lentz Overcash. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University and received a Master's from Webster University.

LTC Overcash served in Vietnam and retired from the Army after 23 years of active duty. He worked for the State Emergency Preparedness Division, FEMA and PBS & J. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He was a member of the Central South Carolina Harley Owner's Group.

LTC Overcash was a member of First Methodist Church in China Grove, N.C.

Survivors are his wife, Olivia Overcash; son Todd Overcash; daughter Ami Overcash, all of Columbia; four grandchildren, T.J., Bryce, Claire and Cody; sister and brother-in-law Louise and Charlie Hill of China Grove; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ken and Darlene Eddleman, also of China Grove.

Service: Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Woodridge Memorial Park.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Newberry Boys Farm, P.O. Box 713, Newberry, SC 29108; or Salvation Army, 6108 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC, 29223.
