D. Jane Eyler

CONCORD - D. Jane Eyler, 86, formerly of York, Pa., passed away on Monday Sept. 2, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast, Concord, after losing to a lengthy fight with cancer.

Jane moved to York, Pa., in 1954, where she owned and operated Jane Eyler Interiors which specialized in custom draperies and furniture coverings. Jane retired her business in 1980 and gained employment with the York County Juvenile Probation Department until retirement in 1989.

She was a devout, active member of Crown Pointe Baptist Church of Kannapolis, where she enjoyed attending Sunday services, Bible study and fellowship trips to the beach.

Jane leaves behind a daughter, Kaye (Gibbs), her husband, Michael Ehrhart of York; a son, Stephen D. Eyler of Mapleton, Maine; four grandchildren, Jason Ehrhart, his wife Amy, and Teri Williams, her husband Chadd, also of York, Sean and Christopher Eyler, both of Okinawa, Japan; three great-grandchildren, Haley Pfefferkorn, Meghan and Logan Ehrhart, also of York, Pa.

Service: Her Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday Sept. 7 at 1 p.m., at the Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd., Kannapolis. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Gearld Broome. Burial will be private.

Memorials: Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.

Jane will be deeply missed and it won't seem the same without her at church on Sundays. She was deeply loved and I was blessed to have known her.
