Dana McCain Helms

Dana McCain Helms, 51, of Rockwell, peacefully passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 17, 2022, at her home. Born February 17, 1971, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of Carolyn Beaver McCain of China Grove and the late Tony Sherman McCain. Dana was a proud 1989 graduate of South Rowan High and continued her education at RCCC, earning an associate degree in criminal justice. She was a longtime, dedicated employee of We Luv Um Childcare at North Kannapolis United Methodist Church. Dana loved all of her family, especially her son and nephews, and treasured time spent with them. She adored children, loved all sports and was a member of Dayspring Community Church. Gone too soon, Dana will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Family members include her much loved son, Austin Helms; her mother, Carolyn Beaver McCain; sister, Denise Fink (Doug); beloved nephews, Nathaniel Sexton (Anna), Nicholas Sexton and Christopher Fink (Ashley); aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members. Service: The family will receive friends from 2:30-4:00 PM Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Dayspring Community Church. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Dana's life will begin at 4:00 PM in the church, conducted by Pastor Gerry Steedley. Burial will take place at 11:00 AM Monday, February 21st, at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial: Memorials may be made to Dayspring Community Church, 490 Lentz Road, China Grove, NC 28023.
