Dianne Agner Obituary
Born December 19, 1949 in Winston-Salem, NC, she was the daughter of the late B.D. Rodgers and Sarah Cochrane Rodgers. A 1968 graduate of Garinger High School, she attended Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1968-69, and attended Duke University in 1971-73, graduating in 1973. A homemaker, her greatest pride was raising five children and spending time with her nine grandchildren.
Dianne was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, a Girl Scout Leader from 1976-1988, a reading volunteer at Overton Elementary School for numerous years, and a regular driver for Meals on Wheels.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Roy Christopher Agner on May 15, 2024.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Nathan Agner, (wife Kristen and their children William and Spencer), Matthew Agner, (wife Carmen and their children Charlie and Michael), Joel Agner, (wife Samantha and their son Ryan); daughters, Elizabeth Brady, (husband John and their children Marshall and Luke), Rebekah Stanton, (husband Tom and their children Emily and Brian); sisters, Amy R. Poole (Ron Grumbles), Sally R. Brown and Laurie R. Howard.
A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, August 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Salisbury, NC with Pastor Dan Joyner-Miller officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Rowan County, PO Box 1914, Salisbury, NC 28145.
