Donald Goodman

Donald “Don” Wayne Goodman, 71, of Mooresville, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, following a brief illness at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. He was born on May 30, 1945 in Cabarrus County to the late Carl and Alma Morrison Goodman. Don is a graduate of South Rowan High School. He retired from Duke Energy as an Inventory Manager. He loved deer hunting, fishing and boating. He was a member of Centre Presbyterian Church. Don had a deep passion for loving people and family. His loyalty and integrity brought him respect from all who knew him. Don loved life and engaged the challenge to thrive. Don is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Kiser Goodman; son, Daryl Goodman and wife, Donna of Weddington; sister, Carla Smith and husband, Ed and their daughter Emily of Kannapolis; granddaughters, Allison Goodman, Olivia Peachey (Ryan), Ella Grace Goodman; great-grandson, Seth McCall; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation and Service: A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Robert M. Howard officiating. The family will receive friends 1-2:30 p.m., prior to the service. The family would like to thank the many doctors and caregivers at Autumn Care of Cornelius and Tucker Hospice House of Kannapolis.
