Edward Gibson Obituary

Edward Junior Gibson 88, of Salisbury was born to the late Richard Odell and Prudie Wood Gibson on May 13, 1932 in Rowan County made a final flight on Thursday April 29, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House after a brief illness. He was last employed as a forklift driver for Southern States and was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church were he served as an usher and Trustee. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Black Gibson, children; Wilbert, Stanley, Nathaniel, William, Perry, Mary, Hope, Faith, Deboyce Harris, siblings; Willie, Cletis, Betty, Fred, John, Clarence, Richard, Charles Gibson and Ila Jones. He is survived by sons; Edward D. (Debra) Gibson, Robert Gibson, Kenneth L. (Vergie) Gibson, Robert Gibson, Larry Gibson, daughters: Charity G. Cruse, Laverne Gibson, brother; Rev. Walter Gibson, sister; Julia M. (Berlin) Torrence, twenty grandchildren, fourty great grandchildren, thirty great-great grancchildren, nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. Service: Funeral Services Saturday, May 8, at 3:00 P.M. Jerusalem Baptist Church burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing Friday 10:00 - 5:00. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the Gibson family.
