Eric Sherrill Obituary
CONCORD - Eric Eugene Sherrill, 53, of Ashlyn Drive, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at the Tucker Hospice House.
He was born in Rowan County on Aug. 17, 1960, to Fred Houston and Ruth Sherrill Johnson.
Eric was educated in the Rowan County School System and was employed as an insurance agent.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Maya Sherrill; and a sister, Sherrilynn Horton.
Those left to cherish fond memories include two daughters, Raven Sherrill and Olivia Sherrill, both of Concord; one son, Grant Sherrill of Concord; parents Herman and Ruth Johnson of Kannapolis; one sister, Cherelle Eddleman of Concord; and a host of aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Service and Visitation: Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 19 at Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Clark Funeral Home, Inc. is serving the Sherrill family.

He was a classmate, neighbor and a dear friend. I think about him from time to time when I go to visit family and pass his mother's house and think about all the good times we had on Glendale Avenue. May his soul rest in peace!

Today, it is still hard to believe that Eric is no longer here with us. He was a classmate, neighbor and most of all a friend to me. He is truly missed and may he rest in peace and I hope to see him again one day! Amen!

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Eric was my first childhood friend and best friend and always had the most beautiful smile and attitude. We were neighbors and played together maybe when were were 6 years old. He took care of me like a sister when we were young. I move to Atlanta and lost touch with him but I always remembered him and his beautiful voice when we were in the school choir. He was a true friend, my heart goes out to your family and it is my prayer that you will remember him in love and not grieve too long.
