Eric Soto Obituary
CHINA GROVE - Eric Huerta Soto, age 14, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, as a result of injuries in an automobile accident on Goodnight Road in Rowan County.
He was born Jan. 8, 1998, in Cabarrus County, the son of Carlos C. Soto and Marta Maravillo-Huerta Soto. He was an eighth-grade student at China Grove Middle School, China Grove. He was a top player on the soccer team and participated in wrestling.
He was thought of by his older brother, Carlos, as a young man who loved to make people laugh. He was a hard worker at the Lazy 5 Ranch on Mooresville Highway. He had high goals and dreams that he wanted to achieve to break his brother's All-Conference sports records in soccer at school. He and his brother were very close.
He was looking forward to getting his permit this next summer and helping his brother get a car ready for him when he could drive. He wanted to be like his brother, Carlos, whom he shadowed in most everything he did.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his two brothers, Carlos Soto and Alex Soto of China Grove; maternal grandmother Senida Maravillo Huerta of Mexico; paternal grandfather Arturo Soto of Mexico; and a number of cousins.
Service: The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Kannapolis, officiated by Rev. Al Raquelme, C.S.s.R. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 4 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel, Kannapolis, from 5 p.m. through the night until taken to the church for the service the next day.

Mi mas sentido pesame para toda su familia en especial a sus padres. Que Dios les de la fortaleza necesaria para superar la perdida de su hijo. Eric esta en un lugar mejor y donde kiera que los cuida. Mas yo no tuve la fortuna de conocerlo pero mi novio hector si y solo con ver a Eric se que era un chavo de buenos sentimientos. Para los padres de Eric Soto: Yo no los conosco pero Hace poco tambien perdi a mi padre, y aunque se que el dolor no se compara como con la perdida de un hijo se que es muy dificil y duro para que deje de doler. Talves mis palabras no les sirvan de mucho pero nadamas les quiero dar mis condolensias y aunque no los conosca los llevo en mi corazon y en mis oraciones para que Dios los ayude y les de la fortaleza que necesitan para recuperarse de este gran dolor. El ya esta descansando, esta en un mejor lugar donde esta en paz y donde no hay maldad para un nino inocente como el. Aunque va ser dificil que lo dejen ir nadamas piensen que el ya no esta sufriendo y que esta en un mejor lugar. Seguire orando mucho por ustedes. Sinceramente les doy mis condolencias.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.

There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.

To the family of Eric
so sorry for your loss. I did not know him but I live right off Goodnight road. I too lost a son and My heart is so sad for the parents of this young man. May God be with you in the days weeks and years to come. There is a suport group call circle of Hope it is for parents that has lost a child it is free and for more information you can call Lori Yang at 704-630-0319 it has been a great help for me.
