Frances Brown Obituary

Frances McDaniel Brown, age 91, passed peacefully into glory on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Davie Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born December 26, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Esther Smith McDaniel.

In June 1954, Frances married the love of her life, Walter “Bink” Lee Brown. Their love story was one of true devotion and adventure, filled with laughter, travel, and memories made across the U.S. and Europe. We take comfort in knowing they are now joyfully reunited, hand in hand.

A lifelong member of Needmore Baptist Church, Frances shared her musical talents as the church pianist for many years and was an active member of the Women's Missionary Union, touching countless lives with her faith and kindness.

Frances retired from Farm Credit in Mocksville after 24 years of dedicated service. Many in the community knew her through her work there, where she formed deep connections with customers and made lifelong friends with her coworkers. She truly loved helping others and made everyone feel like family.

She was a gracious hostess, a wonderful cook, and a cherished mother, aunt, and friend. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious aroma of her home-cooked meals. Frances' gentle spirit, sense of humor, and open heart will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Frances was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret McDaniel Snider and Jeanette McDaniel Brown, and brothers, Thomas Victory McDaniel and Marvin Hanes McDaniel.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Tina Brown West and husband Lowell West, her devoted niece, Wanda Brown Gross and husband Pastor Richard Gross, and many adoring nieces, nephews, and friends. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Oreo, who was always by her side.

Though she has left our sight, we rejoice in the knowledge that Frances is now reunited with Bink, hand in hand, forever.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, June 2, at Needmore Baptist Church, with Pastor Richard Gross and Pastor David Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday June 1, at Eaton Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be considered for North Carolina Baptist Children's Home, P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361 HYPERLINK https://www.bchfamily.org

My husband, RONDA and I went to Needmore Baptist Church with Frances and Bink. My husband knew her a lot longer than I did because he lived in Wood leaf and then later when we got married, we started going to church there. They were two of our special friends when we were going to church there

I met Francis when I was a caregiver for Shirley Hodge. Francis was such a sweet lady and a very dedicated friend to Shirley, and so sweet and kind to me.
