Gene Paul Cline

Gene Paul Cline, age 84, of China Grove, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Gene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose faith and kindness touched everyone he met. He was a member of South China Grove Baptist Church, where he enjoyed fellowship and serving the Lord.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda Fisher Cline; his brother Rick Cline and wife Catherine Cline; grandchildren Scottie Bond, of the home, Brittany Bond of Lincolnton; great-granddaughter Jacelyn Bond, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Gail Beck (Dean); sister-in-law Jeanie Fisher; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Willie Cline, his daughter, Tonya Genene Wilkes, and stepson, Gerald Bond.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at South China Grove Baptist Church, 510 Haney Street, China Grove, NC, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 p.m., with the Rev. Curtis C. Parker officiating.

If you knew him, you never forgot him. His gentle spirit, warm heart, and steadfast faith will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His favorite scriptures were Psalm 23 and John 3:16, which he lived by throughout his life.
